South Wales

Kitchen fitters in Cardiff

Plumbery is a London company. We travel to Cardiff, about 130 miles away, for complete projects rather than small repairs, and keep one project lead as your contact throughout.

In Cyncoed and Lisvane houses are larger detached and semi-detached homes where clients want a big kitchen-diner with an island, a separate utility and access to the garden.

Cost and time

Budget and timescale

A refit in the same layout typically takes one to two weeks on site and a full renovation two to four. Use the kitchen renovation cost calculator for an estimate with VAT, or see the full scope on our London kitchen refurbishment page.

Local know-how

Good to know in Cardiff

Cardiff has soft water, so appliances and taps scale up far less than in the South East. We still check pressure and flow at the sink before fitting a boiling-water tap or a mixer.

Any structural opening between kitchen and dining room needs building control approval from Cardiff Council or an approved inspector; gas and electrical work is certified by our own engineers.

What we do

What we can do for you in Cardiff

Boiling-water and filter taps

Plumbed with the right filter and, in hard water areas, scale protection.

Stone and quartz worktops

Templated once the units are in and fitted on a second visit, with undermounted sinks and drainer grooves.

Island with hob or sink

Waste, power and extraction run under the floor to an island, planned before the floor is laid.

Bespoke kitchen installation

Made-to-measure or solid timber cabinetry fitted and scribed to walls that are never quite straight.

Our clients

Complete kitchens, planned around how you cook

We focus on homeowners in Pontcanna, Llandaff, Cyncoed, Lisvane, Radyr and Penarth who want the job done properly once: considered layout, quality materials and trades that turn up in the right order.

Pontcanna terraces have long, narrow kitchens in the rear wing; widening them into the side passage is the most common way to get space.

Questions

Kitchen refurbishment in Cardiff: your questions

Can you widen a narrow Pontcanna kitchen?

Usually by building into the side passage. In Wales we check permitted development and building regulations first, and Pontcanna has conservation areas.

Which parts of Cardiff do you cover?

Yes. We take on complete kitchen refurbishment projects across Cardiff, including Canton, Roath, Pontcanna, Llandaff, Whitchurch and Penarth, and in Pontcanna, Llandaff, Cyncoed, Lisvane, Radyr and Penarth.

Do you connect gas hobs and range cookers?

Yes, our gas engineers connect and test them.

How long does a kitchen refurbishment take?

A refit typically takes one to two weeks on site and a full renovation two to four, with a week or two between templating and fitting stone worktops.

Can you fit a kitchen I have bought from a showroom?

Yes. We fit kitchens from any supplier, including bespoke and solid-timber kitchens, and coordinate deliveries with the showroom.
